Pollyanna Rainbow Sunshine and the Needles of Doom

Pollyanna is an official Zombie Prom Date Knitter

Lyda here. Yes, I might actually date a zombie at this point. It couldn’t be worse than some dates I’ve been on. Wait. I already have dated zombies. Anna-Liza can vouch for that.

I joined the Zombie Prom Date Knitters group on Ravelry.

Zombie Prom Date Knitters?” you ask. Holly Bee, the founder of ZPDK, explains the origins. Her blog is “knit with snot for you” which is a funny and strangely disturbing name, isn’t it? And here’s the ZPDK Summer Schedule of Doom. Not really relevant, unless you live near Kalamazoo, but ya’ll know it was my Pollyanna duty to link to that post title!

Speaking of zombies, I discovered, through the ZPDK Ravelry group, that there is a musical called “Zombie Prom“. Check out the trailer! Must. See. Movie.

And I found something to help feed my Zombie Army, because “There’s always room for brains!” And for those times when my zombies are feeling more random than usual, “WWZD?”

What a fun time suck. They also have “What would a pirate do?” for ye swabs. And a skull-and-crossbones toast stamper. Arr, matey, pass me the marrrmalade. Hey, could be weirder. Could be the Virgin Mary on your toast.

I love these. And these. Nihilism – it’s the new black!  And these almost qualify for Black Valentines Day, right, Marin?

But I digress… randomly… again…

Back to the Zombie Prom Date Knitters!

I so very much want a ZPKD t-shirt.

I asked permission from the creator of ZPDK to start a local chapter. And she said yes!

I am now Fearless Leader of the Orange County CA Chapter of the Zombie Prom Date Knitters!!! Our assigned team colors are orange and green. Perfect – orange for the OC, green for zombies!

Proposed ZPDK Chapter Expenses:

Copy of “Shaun of the Dead” for training purposes: $25
Sharpened shovels: $15 each
Plastic knitting bags to keep blood off of yarn: $20 each

Being able to call myself a Zombie Prom Date Knitter?

Priceless.

Zombies might be an improvement to my dating life. Fun! I’ll have to go on Ravelry and check it out. I know I haven’t been keeping up with it.
