Pollyanna Rainbow Sunshine Says It’s Raining Men!

Lyda here.

Of course, all the men in my life right now are under 18.  But I sure love ’em!!

I’ve come home almost every night this week to a house full of teenagers playing video games, laughing and taking up every square inch of floor and couch. Not only is my second son “Chuck Norris” staying with us, but since school is out my son the Sith Master’s friends have been coming over too. It’s incredible how much space teenage boys can occupy. The walls are oozing testosterone, ya’ll.

“It’s raining men, hallelujah, it’s raining men…”

Hmmm, when I danced to that song in college I had no idea that one day I’d be so happy to have the men in my life all be at least 30 years younger than me.

Here are the full lyrics, for your singing pleasure (but not at work, because you aren’t reading this at work, are you? of course not! But I digress…).

It’s Raining Men
Written by Paul Jabara/Paul Schaffer

Humidity’s rising
Barometer’s getting low
According to all sources
The street’s the place to go

‘Cos tonight for the first time
At just about half past ten
For the first time in history
It’s gonna start raining men

It’s raining men
Hallelujah it’s raining men, Amen
It’s raining men
Hallelujah it’s raining men, Amen

Humidity’s rising
Barometer’s getting low
According to all sources
The street’s the place to go

‘Cos tonight for the first time
At just about half past ten
For the first time in history
It’s gonna start raining men

It’s raining men
Hallelujah it’s raining men, Amen
I’m gonna go out
I’m gonna let myself get
Absolutely soaking wet

It’s raining men
Hallelujah it’s raining men
Every specimen
Tall blond dark and mean
Rough and tough and strong and lean

God bless Mother Nature
She’s a single woman too
She took on a heaven
And she did what she had to do
She taught every angel
To rearrange the sky
So that each and every woman
Could find her perfect guy

It’s raining men
Go get yourself wet girl
I know you want to

I feel stormy weather moving in
About to begin
Hear the thunder
Don’t you lose your head
Rip off the roof and stay in bed

It’s raining men Hallelujah
It’s raining men, Amen
It’s raining men Hallelujah
It’s raining men, Amen

It’s raining men Hallelujah
It’s raining men, Amen
It’s raining men Hallelujah
It’s raining men, Amen

This weekend, rip off the roof and stay in bed, girlfriends!
