Hi, Anna-Liza here.
Two knitting events are coming up here on the Front Range. The first is this Sunday in Fort Collins, described as “A knitting/fibers extravaganza.” (Scroll down a bit for info). It will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lincoln Center Canyon West Room. 417 W. Magnolia Street in Fort Collins. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for students with ID, kids 11 and under are free. There will be a number of free demonstrations, including Andean Knitting and Making Cables without a Cable Needle.
No idea if I’ll make it there or not, but it’s high on my priority list. After the intense lack o’ knitting in the last few weeks, what with Darlin’ K’s rehearsals and commuting to Denver and therefore my being constantly running to keep up with all the stuff he normally takes care of, I’m ready to immerse in fiber!
I should point out that this is happening while a fiber arts exhibit is being held at the Lincoln Center, “Twist and Shout: the New Fiber Arts”. (Yeah, it’s the same link). The show runs through August 30th if you can’t make it to the Sunday event. The exhibit will be open 10:30 to 4:30 for viewing during KnitWear Event.
The next event is September 8th, the Boulder Knit Out, at Central Park in Boulder. Broadway & Canyon, right by the bandshell (where the fire show was) and just west of the Farmers’ Market (so parking will not be quite so easy, I guess). But hey! Knitting in public, knit/spin/etc. demos, meeting other fiber
fools artists … and having all the yummy Farmers’ Market food right there handy, too–what’s walking a few extra blocks to get to that? It will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Knitting Sprite and I plan to go, although I will most likely have to leave before it’s quite over for a birthday party.
That is all. Enjoy the tea.
