We might be in trouble.

See this post about 4 health behaviors that can add 14 years to your life. That article’s got the science and the study citation and everything.

The four behaviors:

  • not smoking – so far, I’m okay…
  • eating five servings of fruit and vegetables a dayIn case you don’t want to read the whole article, the study was based on ”a blood vitamin C level consistent with eating five servings of fruit or vegetables a day.” You’re welcome. So – if we all keep taking our Flintstones chewable vitamins… does that count?
  • taking exerciseoh crap…
  • moderate alcohol intake – uh… what do they consider moderate? “1-14 units a week (a unit is half a pint of beer or a glass of wine).” So, from one to 14 glasses of wine a week, or one-half pint to 7 pints of beer a week, or… whatever that is in hard liquor. 14 shots? One of my friend K’s margueritas?

Well, it’s obvious what I need to do, isn’t it?

That’s right.

Start drinking more.

    Man! I need to drink more!
    Maybe what I lack in excercise, I can make up for in the beverage department!
