Pollyanna and the Incovenient Robin

Hey, Anna-Liza here. It snowed last night, but I don’t have pictures. Taking pictures out the back window is a little restricted right now, because of this:

Wait, can’t see it? Here’s a close-up:

We’re avoiding going through the back door for a while. We’re all feeling very protective of Mama Robin! Daddy Robin is, too – Darlin’ K got dive-bombed the other day when he got too close.

In the first picture, you can see where another nest was started and abandoned. There were two proto-nests for a while, then no activity, and I thought they’d both been abandoned. Then one morning I looked out the window and there was a perfect bird’s-nest-shaped bird’s nest sitting on top of one of the proto-nests. With a bird in it, and everything!

I’m fine with a little inconvenience. It’s not just the kids that are enjoying watching over our small guests. I’m sure that mama appreciated having the roof over her head with the rain and snow falling last night!

Little wrens have set up residence in the eaves of my mother’s patio covering. We were dive-bombed a time or two over the weekend.
